Powder Painting

Surface preparation

Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder applied to metals by electrostatic or electrokinetic method. The powder paint, electrically charged in the gun, is deposited on the grounded metal surface. The material covered with the powder coating is then heated at a temperature of about 200 degrees Celsius, which causes the powder to melt and polymerize. The paint coat is resistant to corrosion, weather conditions and some chemicals. It offers also better protection against mechanical damage than solvent-based paint.

The perfect adhesion of the coating on the painted aluminum profiles is obtained through the use of a full chemical treatment in the preparatory process, consisting of:

  • Aluminum etching
  • Rinsing with tap water
  • Rinsing with demineralized water
  • A final rinse with demineralized water
  • Chrome-free passivation
  • Drying

In the process of preparing the materials, we also use an ultrasonic cleaner, a spray washer and a Karcher high-pressure device. Out of concern for environmental protection and for ensuring  the highest quality standards we have invested in our own demineralized water stations for use in rinsing of the materials during the chemical treatment.

We also have a 600 x 300 x 300 cm sand-blasting machine for the preparation of steel elements. Sand blasting removes all impurities and ensures proper adhesion of the powder paint to the substrate.

Painting process

Thanks to the use of professional MONKIEWICZ spray booths, GEMA, Nordson and RADET spray guns, we ensure reliable and timely execution of orders.

From 2016 we have a Nordson automatic powder coating system, which allows us to obtain excellent surface quality and uniformity in the thickness of the coating.

Our selection of powders includes a wide range of colors, from the RAL palette, and many special effects – e.g. metallic, structural, pearl paints – in this field we cooperate with experienced suppliers of the best paints in the market.

The curing oven has the following dimensions: Length – 710 cm, Height – 160 cm, Width – 115 cm. Therefore, we accept orders for long profiles as well as non-standard elements.

Powder coating is used, for example, in the following industries:

  • Producers of aluminum systems, e.g. for exhibitions
  • Manufacturers of facades, windows and fences
  • Automotive branch
  • Producers of industrial machines and devices
  • Producers of lighting systems
  • Interior and garden equipment – pergolas, garden furniture, facade sheets, strips, radiators, furniture …
